Here we offer a rare English Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, which has a Champleve Dial, signed C.Clay and is in very good condition. It has a Case Maker’s Mark IE + a Star on the inner and outer. The Movement is signed Cha. Clay, London; is working very well and keeping good time and is Key Wound on the Back and and Key Set on the Dial. G.H Bailie lists Charles Clay in London 1730 to 1750, as Clockmaker to King George 11. Note the young face on the cock, perhaps indicating that this is o...ne of his earlier watches.The Verge Fusee Movement has Egyptian Pillars and is in very good cosmetic and working condition. It was recently Serviced by my Watchmaker; runs around 15mins slow in the day and has a 36 hour chain.It is housed in Silver Pair Cases, stamped with the Makers Mark IE + a Star The Outer measures 52mm in diameter and is in very good condition. The 45mm Watch Case is also in Excellent condition and is 20mm deep – (25.4mm =1 inch).The 42mm Silver Champleve Dial is in very good condition. It has Roman Hour Numerals and Arabic Minutes in the outer chapter ring. It has a raised Glass Crystal, Blue Steel Beetle and Poker hands and is being sold as described and in the condition as shown in the pics. It comes to you directly from a large Irish Watch Collection, which was assembled over the past 40-50 years – (Ref : ACC 230).
