For Your attention great looking man's wrist watch converted from pocket watch with early and rare high grade PATEK PHILIPPE & Co. pocket watch chronometer movement. New stainless steel case with crystal back recently made for this wonderful movement. The diameter of the watch is 44 millimeters and 53.3 millimeters from lug to lug and 12.5 millimeters thick. New/ restored dial with black Roman numerals signed PATEK & Co. is in perfect condition. Dial is signed with Patek name on it, no Philippe. I tried to match the style of original dial which usually comes with this type of movement. Stem wind/set movement is not signed. It is stamped PP under the dial, serial number 17537 stamped under the dial as well and it dates this movement to the year of 1862. High grade gilded 19 jewels movement has wolf teeth winding gears, bimetallic compensating balance wheel with gold screws, counter poised " moustache" lever, flat overcoil balance spring, and historical first patented stem-wind mechanism. In 1842, Adrien Philippe invented a mechanism for watches which allowed them to be wound and set by means of a crown rather than a key. His patented invention earned him a Bronze Medal at the French Industrial Exposition of 1844 (World's Fair). At the Exhibition, Adrien Philippe first met Antoni Patek and a year later became head watchmaker at Patek & Co. in Geneva under an agreement that entitled him to one third of all company profits.The watch is serviced and oiled and is in good working condition and keeps good time.
