HEUER 2444 Vintage Valjoux 72 Chronograph Pre Carrera Big Eye Stainless with bespoke Box

Absolutely stunning big eye 2444 pre-Carrera Heuer Chronograph with the most fabulous hands and original lume. Stunning Heuer 3 register big eye silver dial superb engine turned sub-dials. Incredibly early Valjoux 72 with Heuer bridge and serial numbers. Comes with new 18mm p...erforated leather rally band and bespoke box.
CaseOriginal Heuer stainless steel case with 18mm lugs. Case is in very good condition having been cleaned up but never overly polished and very well looked after.
Case backOriginal Heuer Leonidas signed screw fit case back. Some minor marks from use and opening in its long history.
DialStunning silver dial with engine turned Big Eye sub-dials. There is a very feint patina over the dial that takes it from silver to a warm champagne colour in certain lights.. The hour markers are lume that is still a nice rich colour but darkened with age. All the hands are in great condition. The dauphine hour and minute hands are incredible and have the stunning original lume.
MovementThe watch houses a lovely early Valjoux 72 movement which, even after all these years, gently leaps into life and runs beautifully. It has the original Heuer bridge with very early serial number. You can see examples of the early V72 movements at OnTheDash. All of the chrono functions are working.
Pushers and CrownThe watch has a stainless crown that winds the watch and changes the time smoothly. I am not sure if these are the original pushers but they are the typically long ones found on the 2444s. They work smoothly and operate as they should.
CrystalThe watch has a new plexi glass fitted.
BraceletThe watch is hung on a new black leather perforated rally band with stainless buckle.
Boxthe watch comes with a bespoke box.
As with all vintage watches I would recommend that it is serviced to ensure a accurate time keeping and functionality.
