1965DODGE M37B1 – NO RESERVEIpurchased this truck in 1986 at a local highway department auction. It had several missing and broken items. I have replaced or repaired most items. I have applied (by brush) Randolph OD paint overhighway department gray & orange.Itcurrently has 26653 miles.Theengine has a knock at low idle and does not run well under load. It can only be driven around the yard. Compression test shows (115, 110, 105, 105, 105 &1...00.) Vacuum runs at 15 with aslow pulse of 1. Oil pressure is 30 atidle.Thewinch works great and is quite powerful.Thetires are in decent condition.Theelectrical system is 24-volt but is a mishmash of civilian and military wiring. However everything does work.Irecently replaced ignition coil, points, condenser and distributor inputcapacitor.Irecently replaced the exhaust manifold with a good used and the intake manifoldwith a NOS unit. I recently replaced the master cylinder.Carburetorwas recently rebuilt by Treadwell.Hassome rust in the typical M37 locations (i.e., fenders where headlights attach, door corners, side of hood and floor pans.) Frame/undercarriage has no rust.Tailgatehas some dents and rust – poor condition.Clutchis original but still works well enough.Seatsare in poor condition but serviceable.Ihave installed seat belts.Metaltop (oval rear window) is in good condition.Ithas free-wheeling hubs.Generatorand oil pressure gauges work. Fuel andtemperature gauges do not work.Irecently installed new parking brake lining so it works well.Irecently installed a complete brake line set (from Midwest Military) and allnew rubber brake hoses. Also, I rebuiltall wheel cylinders.Passengerside windshield has small crack.Newbatteries were installed last year (civilian type.)Underthe Military Vehicles Magazinerating system I would estimate truck condition as: 5-Restorable (Needs completerestoration of body, chassis and interior. May or not be running, but is not wrecked, weathered or stripped to thepoint of being useful only for parts.)Thisis a 54 year old unrestored vehicle so please bid accordingly. Along with the pictures I have tried toprovide a comprehensive description. However, I encourage you to ask questions as well.
