One of the nicestvintage/antique Rolex's I have personally ever encountered. This isa ROLEX OYSTER ROYAL PPRECISIONin caliber 6427. Serial number dates this to 1959. This has beenRolex trained tech serviced and operates like it is a new watch...like goingback in time when the Russians had launched the first man-madesatellite into orbit (Sputnik)...hard to believe but that was 60years ago!
This has been fullyserviced thus saving the lucky buyer of this watch the $300.00 pluscosts of... servicing that is often found to be required on mostvintage/antique watches purchased from other sources.
The movement ismechanical and hand winding...made in house by Rolex itself, not liketoday's Rolex's that use modified ETA movements that are purchased byRolex and not made in house by Rolex, Geneva. Movement is 17 jeweledand operates smoothly and is VERY ACCURATE. Screw-down Rolex markedlogo crown, new gasketing and a polished and very attractive allstainless steel oyster case.
Beautiful silver dial(appears to be original not a redial), marked below the 12 positionwith the Rolex crown, below which is written: ROLEX – OYSTER –ROYAL, and above the 6 position: PRECISION. Below the 6 positionalong the dials edge it reads: T SWISS T.
Crystal appears cleanand clear. Etched bezel which sets the look of the watch off justbeautifully, as does the new alligator pattern genuine brown leatherstrap.
Hands and markers haveluminescent material on them, and still glow briefly in the dark.
Measurements are: 34mmin diameter NOT including the screw-down crown, approximately 41mmfrom lug tip to lug tip, and 19mm between the lugs.
