Up for grabs is a vintage Girard Perregaux alarm, ref 7742Y from the 1960s. Total 5860 pieces of these ref 7742 were made in the 60s including steel, gold plated and solid gold case.

Case: unpolished case is around 35mm with defined facets/chamfers by the lugs; normal wears and scratches consistent with age. 18mm lugs. Original alarm crown at 2 o'clock signed “A”. Original unsigned crown at 4 o'clock.
Dial: Original white/silver dial in excellent condition with a small wear around the center toward 10 o’clock. Otherwise the dial is in excellent condition. Alarm indication window and disk in excellent condition and is adjusted by the 2 o'clock crown. Lume dots at the hour markers have turned into a darker shade but are all intact. Dial is signed “Swiss T” at 6 o’clock.
Hands: Original in good condition. Original lumes intact on hour and minutes hands.
Movement: Cal. 11-09 which is based on AS 1475, a widely used reliable alarm movement in clean condition, alarm buzzing is loud and clear. The movement is working well but service history unknown. The watch will start running with about 2 winds at the crown, it keeps reasonable time at the moment though no guarantee can be made with any vintage watches. The watch is not waterproof at current state.
Strap: a basic strap will be mounted.
