I found it, as is, behind another print from the mid 20th century. I have no idea how it ended up there though.
It is glued onto a board measuring 23 3/4 inches wide x 19 1/2 inches high (60.3 cm x 49.5 cm). The etching itself measures 20 1/4 inches wide x 16 1/2 inches high (51.4 cm x 41.9 cm).
If you search Google, you will find quite a bit on the Italian painter ...Annibale Carracci (1560-1609) and the etcher Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815). They are both highly regarded.
The etching reads on the bottom:
From a Painting of Annibale CarracciIN HIS Majesty’s COLLECTION.
In the lower right corner it reads:
F. Bartolozzi del. et sculp.
There is a dark stain in the upper left corner and other stains and foxing throughout. Please use the photos as your guide.
I believe there may have been a mat attached to it, and there are remnants of that paper going around it.
