Original Description:
This Rookwood Mat Moderne vase stands 8.25" high by 4" in diameter.  It has a beautifully classic full-bodied and handsome form, with a nice collar.  This vase was decorated by Miss Elizabeth Barrett.  She painted this vase with large sprigs of very stylized and drippy blossoms and leaves, which trail around the vessel in a fabulous presentation!  It is glazed in a nice golden yellow ochre/honey amber ground, wi...th rusty orangy brown/black drippy glazes in the blossoms and leaves, very handsome.  This vase is well marked and it is dated 1927, along with Barrett's cipher.  This vase is in mint, no apologies.  If you are a fan of Barrett's work, this is a superb and impressive vessel!
