This impressive, early Zsolnay Pecs vessel measures 8.25" high by 3.5" in overall diameter, with a rim opening of 2". Made in Hungary, this is a Zsolnay piece dating to circa 1904-1906, based upon its shape number. It has a classic vase form, and it is glazed in a lustre drip, purple over a yellow/gold lustre, with a Mother-of-Pearl sheen. It is well marked with the Zsolnay Pecs towers wafer mark, in red glazes. It is numbered '7664' with a '59.' painted in the purple slip glaze. ... This vessel is in essentially mint condition, with normal handling wear, obviously well-loved and cared for over the past 100+ years.
