This is a vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the 1940's crime drama, QUEEN OF THE MOB (AKA The Woman From Hell!), released in 1940 by Paramount Pictures and directed by James Hogan. The source material was a book attributed to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover entitled Persons inHiding. The events are loosely based on the kidnapping of Edward Bremer bythe Barker-Karpis Gang, which Hoover believed to have been led by Ma Barker.The names of the persons involved and oth...er details of events were changed inthe film at the request of the FBI. The character of Ma Webster (Blanche Yurka) is a female gangleader in Illinois and the film includes car chases and an airplane crash.The image features a medium shot of Ma Webster (Blanche Yurka) looking at one of her son's who is holding a doll in a dox as George Frost (J. Carrol Naish) sits on the edge of a small nightstand. This vintage original lobby card is in fine+ condition with a light 2 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner that goes through the yellow background area; one pinhole in each top corner within the borders only; a 0.75 in. horizontal crease beneath the edge of the top border to the left of center that has a small vertical tear on the end of it; random signs of wear on the edge of the top border; a slightly rounded bottom right corner with light signs of wear along the bottom inch of this border; and a 0.75 in. vertical tear on bottom border to the right of center. The color tints are fresh and vibrant with no indications of fading and feature a beautiful deep red and light blue. Provenance: The Morris Everett Jr. Collection.
