This Blu-Ray disk has DTS HD Master Audio (Blu-Ray Audio) for Magical Mystery Tour in 24-96 hi resolution, 7.1 surround sound. This is Hi Resolution AUDIO ONLY, it is NOT a movie. You need a Blu-Ray player to play this, it will not play on a DVD or CD player. This Blu-Ray will play in all countries (it is "region free").
I have not seen any of these in the USA or anywhere outside Japan, so it may be a promo to assess the Japanese market's demand for high resolution... surround sound. Or it could be a test mix for music industry professionals, to follow up on the success of the Sgt Pepper Surround Sound release last year. Other ebayers in Japan are selling this exact same item for $99 - $139 (search Beatles 7.1 or Beatles 5.1).
This surround version has backup vocals separated from the main vocals, while the original stereo version has both vocals in the same channel. These vocals could not have been separated without access to the master tapes at Abbey Road.
Note that promos are not commercially mass produced, and usually lack writing on the disk. Please refer to the pictures to see exactly what you are getting, as there are NO REFUNDS. Bidders should understand that this is a rare promo, and not a mass produced commercial item.

The beauty of the Beatles' harmonies, and the genius of George Martin's production, really shine through in surround sound. Things that were previously "buried in the mix" become amazingly clear. Where you thought there was one guitar, there are 2 or 3 guitars. Where you thought there was one voice, there are a few voices.
Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever are incredible in surround. On I Am The Walrus, you can finally hear that what they are REALLY saying at the end is "Everybody's got one!" And at the end of Strawberry Fields, John is actually saying "cranberry sauce" (not "I'm very bored, or 'I buried Paul"!)
