RARE ORIGINAL LARGE ART NOUVEAU BRONZE BOWL WITH COPPER GILT MEDALLION BY : R. BENARD 1905 - SUSSE
- Raoul René Alphonse Bénard : born September 30, 1881 in Elbeuf and died in 1961 in Hendaye, is a French engraver-medalist.
&nbs...p; He is a student of Jules Chaplain.
- He won the Prix de Rome in 1911 and a silver medal at the Salon des artistes français in 1922.
- He is a resident of the Villa Medicis from 1911 to 1920.
- He is the creator of the medals of the 1924 Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and commemorative medals of the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris.
- He was knighted the Legion of Honor in 1927.
- Authentic Original period 1905 - it is in very good condition, beautiful patina, no signs of shock or scratches, low wear in general.
