Description: A vintage Kosta Boda four-sided crystal Scandinavian modern vase in heavy lead crystal - basically a quatrefoil shaped vase with a polished mouth.Signed on bottom: "Kosta Boda (model number) 49007 / (artist signature) B. Edenfalk". Measurements: about 9 inches tall with an approx. 4 inch diameter opening (measured at the widest point). Weighs ...close to 4-1/2 lbs! Condition: Very good with no chips, cracks, major scratches or repairs (inner lip possibly "smoothed" out a bit?). Notes: Retains the Kosta Boda label. A clear cut crystal vase that produces a rainbow diamond in the light.
Designer Biography:Karl Bengt Eugén Edenfalk , born December 19, 1924 in Karlskrona, died August 11, 2016 in Laholm, was a Swedish glass designer, visual artist, graphic artist and sculptor.Bengt Edenfalk studied with Edward Hald at Orrefors glass mill and later at Konstfackskolan in Stockholm, 1947-52. During 1952-1978 he was Scruf's glassworks first artistic designer. There he designed more than 70 different dishes, among them, Corona, Skandia, Old Sweden, Puck and Bellman. He worked at Kosta Boda from 1978 to 1989. Then as a stand-alone at Strömbergshyttan and in Wilke Adolfsson's studio gazebo in Orrefors. Edenfalk's work is represented the National Museum in Stockholm and other leading design institutions.
