This is a superb Staffordshire boy figure portrayed with the seated irish red setter dog mounted onto the decorative base of which:During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the mid 19th century. Dates about c1850s.Staffordshire, England origin.Features in the Victorian Staffordshire Dogs by A & N Harding.Date confirmed as mid 19th century: c1850s.A wonderful portrayal of the boy figure portrayed in the wonderful dress attire.Stands cross legge...d on a coloured cushion.A large seated russet red & white seated irish red setter with the wonderful facial detailing and its overall portrayal.Separate front legs.Mounted onto the decorative base with a small coloured area of bocage.It has an overall height of about 7.5inches.Base size of about 5.25 x 2.25inches.Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is:excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes except:has a trio of small chips to the base at the front, the ear at the rear and to its back with a couple of others to the rear.Due to age: areas of crazing with staining to the same to the dogs back.All as per pictures.Besides being a very collectable, mid 19th century Staffordshire boy figure portrayed standing crossed legged on a coloured cushion with the large seated irish red setter dog, with its wonderful portrayal, mounted onto the decorative base, c1850s, would also look fabulous displayed.uk to uk:FREEuk to usa: FREEuk to eu europe: FREEuk to worldwide: FREE
