by Ned Foltz For your Redware Collection Details Description: Round redware plate or shallow bowl with a rounded bottom and flared sides rising to a coggled rim. The plate itself is decorated with a dark brown colored background and yellow colored slip decoration depicting a bird perched on a branch with leaves... surrounding the bird. The back has the typical redware color, is plain and signed by the artist.

Marks: Written in cursive calligraphy "C. N. Foltz; Pa; 1985" and has the Foltz Pottery mark and a cross under it all.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and substantial, but delicate piece weighing almost 1 1/2 pounds. This piece is made in the best Pennsylvania Dutch style by a master potter with the right heritage.
Condition: Plate/bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or hairlines. It does have crazing to the glaze.
