Vintage covered soap dish with strainer insert and a vines and berry design, by J & G Meakin of England. Dish is oval, about 6 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 3.5 inches high with lid. In very good condition for its age, with no cracks or major chips (a few very small ones on the top) but visible crazing throughout. See pictures for condition. Very faint round backstamp on the back that says "J & G Meakin Ironstone China." Does not say "England, " so this is the pre-1891 backst...amp. Other backstamps have been worn/washed away. Last photo is edited (dark contrast) to try and show lettering a little better.
