You're bidding on a pair of Rookwood art pottery bookends - bottom-marked with the Rookwood Pottery mark, 1915 date code and design number 2186 - which is "Cornucopia", a rare to find motif of two cornucopias, overflowing with fruit and intertwined in a leafy canopy at the top. 6 1/4" X 4 1/2" base dimensions, 5" tall, and each weighs about 3 1/2 lbs.
NOTE - one has more issues than the other including a sizeable chip at front left corner, but both exhibit chips at corner tips... and within the design - SOLD AS IS AS FOUND. Scarce to find in any condition, though, and the glaze is also quite interesting - it's a blue matte base glaze, but it's a bit mottled, with some sort of brownish-olive overgrazing.
