Vintage Gordon & Jane Martz Matched-Pair Table Lamps (Marshall Studios) Description For sale are two (2) matched & signed “mid-century modern” glazed and incised ceramic lamps from Marshall Studios in Veedersburg, Indiana. The lamps are a matched pair. We are the original owners. The lamps were purchased in 1975. Both lamps are “completely original”; i.e. everything on the lamps is from 1975. Features: Brown ceramic bases with almond ...pattern incising decorationMartz signature on each lamp baseWalnut or teak finials (unsure of wood)Original lampshade harps with wood screw capsOriginal lampshadesOriginal bulb sockets, wiring and electrical plugs Condition: Ceramic bases: excellent, no chips, cracks or discolorationFinials: ExcellentLampshade harps: Very good, true and unbent. The brass has a dark patina after 44 years.Wooden top fittings: Excellent.Lampshade frames: Excellent, true and unbent.Electrical parts: All in working order, including 3-way socket switches Lampshade #1: Excellent Lampshade #2: Very good; however, the paper trim on the top is quite fragile after 44 years and has broken away in one spot and cracked in two other spots (see photos). There are also 2 slight dimples on the shades (see photos). The fabric is in good condition and the top trim could be replaced, but I have not done so. Dimensions: Ceramic bases: 12 ¾” ht with diameter tapering from 8 ¼” to 7 ½”Finials: 5 5/8” ht with diameter tapering from 3 ¾” to 3”Lamp shades: 15” with diameter tapering from 16 ¼” to 15”Overall height: 31 ¾” (including wood cap) Payment Payment must be received through PayPal no later than 3 business days after Buy-It-Now or successful close of auction. Delivery and Shipping Lamps will be packed/shipped/insured at buyer’s expense by UPS within 3 business days of receipt of payment and clearance of funds through PayPal. Given the ceramics and value of the lamps, I am going to have UPS pack and insure the lamps.
The UPS estimate for packing, ground shipping & insurance in continental U.S. is $200-300, but the buyer will pay actual shipping cost based on the final destination.
