This auction is for a very large and unique wwi vintage flying boat airplane model made of solid cast aluminum mounted to a solid metal base featuring an engraved name plate with enamel red circle insignia documenting this airplane as being a british-built Felixstowe F.5 made for the imperial japanese navy. This biplane model also has original grey paint and hand-painted japanese characters on the top wing. This model may have been used in a wind tunnel (note the horizontal post mounti...ng hole in the nose with tightening screw) or as a factory shop model. Size: 25 inches wingspan.
