MODEL, CONDITION: Standing just shoulder high to an old 6.5 Oz Coke bottle, this elegant looking radio has found its way into many a room, den, or office, delivering superb sound for a set of its size. If you’ve ever heard one, then you know that they pack more punch per cubic inch per dollar than just about any AM/FM radio on the market. It sounds every bit as nice as the compact Tivoli models you might have heard, and looks more elegant, especially in this silver and black scheme.... Sound is quite clean and expansive from this set, with excellent AM and FM performance. You’ll be amazed to find a 3 inch speaker delivering the tight bass from this unit. Set features a special geared down tuning knob that turns silky smooth. Once the NiCad batteries inside have been charged, the unit will play for hours on its own, OR simply plug it into the wall with the included 12V charger, and you’re ready for high fidelity. Radio has excellent AM reception without an external antenna. It gets its FM signal from the telescoping antenna built into the back of the unit, OR more distant stations can be picked up using the plug-in wire included. I found just using the telescoping antenna was enough to deliver excellent FM reception in our area. There’s an AUX input jack so you can hook up and amplify your iPod, CD / MP3 player, and there’s a headphone jack on the rear panel for private listening. Small 8.2 inch by 5 inch tall set (old 6.5 Oz Coke bottle in one photo will give a better sense of scale) will look great anywhere with its ebony cabinet, brushed metal trim, and smart styling with carry handle. Cabinet is in excellent shape showing only the slightest signs of wear; there are some faint scratches on the metal trim on the lower left side that can be seen in one photo, but it’s not obtrusive. Front panel, cabinet, and tuning knob are in excellent shape with no nicks, scratches, or mars, radio looks cool with its small blue LED lamps glowing; photos will represent it well. Antenna segments are true and extend properly and tuck in as they should. SHIPPING: Radio and charger weigh in at just under 4 pounds unpacked.
