This original 1860's cdv photo was recently found in an estate auction. This was found in small group of Civil War photos of soldiers with most (& all of those that were marked) having the back marking of the: "Photographer M. Witt, 81 South High St., Columbus, Ohio". So, we suspect, but are not certain, that this officer probably served in an Ohio unit during the war. This cdv of an officer with a beard is unidentified.
The cdv measures 3 3/4 inches by 2 7/16 inches. The top an...d bottom borders & corners have some in period trim which was performed to expedite album insertion.
