Great pair of George Williams Wood Ducks, Drake and Hen signed by Williams, 2000. These decoys were made for noted author Worth Mathewson of Amity, Oregon. Mathewson is the author of many magazine articles for such well known magazines as "Wildfowl Magazine" and "Sporting Classics". He has also authored 11 books, such as "Big December Canvasbacks" and "Waterfowling Best Days", both are illustrated by his good friend, noted wildlife artist and hunter, "David Hagerbaumer". Worth writes a...bout his decoys in both books. These decoys come from Mathewson's personal decoy rig straight from his Decoy Shed. The decoys also include a copy of Mathewson's "Big December Canvasbacks", a $20 to $30 value. The decoys are hand signed by George Williams, they read; "For Worth, George Williams, 2000", it is hard to read due to hunting use, see photos. George Williams is from Dover, Delaware and a member of "Runamuck Hunting Decoy Carvers Intergalactic". The decoys are made of high density cork and wood. The Drake measures: 15" long by 6-1/2" wide by 9-1/2" high, includes wood keel. The hen measures; 15" long by 6-1/2" wide by 8" high, includes wood keel. Glass eyes with excellent painting detail by Williams. Minor paint rubs from hunting use, see photos. Put them in your hunting rig of decoys or use them as décor in you den, office, cabin or hunting lodge.
