Item History & Price
The first such flying bombs were sent over from France from June 1944, at a rate of over 100 per day. This was partly a response to the D-Day Landings. From September 1944 the V2 missile were fired at London from Holland. They we...re capable of much damage - the penultimate V2 killed 134 people when it hit a block of flats in Stepney. As can be seen from the map, many of these devices did not reach London.
The newspaper is also of interest in itself for the wartime content - obituaries, adverts for "make do and mend" etc. Please study the photos for examples.
Size: the newspaper measures 60cms x 42cms.Condition: The newspaper is inevitably a little torn and creased, but I believe it is in an acceptable condition for so ephemeral an item.
