This fabulous "A. Franks" camera is fitted with a brass lens.Made or retailed by the optician and camera makers "A. Franks" of Manchester.The camera bears an enamelled plaque to to the back with the "A. Franks" details, the writing still has a good colour.There are no holes or splits to the plum coloured leather bellows, that I can find, however, however, there is a little fading, particularly to the edges and folds. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The glass plat...e measures 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches, which I believe is 1/2 plate size.The wooden body has gained a lovely depth of colour and patina over the years. There are no major chips or splits that I can find, however, there are the usual scuffs and scratches that you would associate with an item of this age.All of the brass work appears to be present and are in working order. The camera extends and folds away wellI have tried to show this in the photographs.The camera is fitted with and unnamed brass lens, it has "f 8 - 64".
