Cased Antique Monocular Microscope outfit by Smith & Beck. Serial No.404. Accessories and a draw of contemporary Microscope Slides.
Original Mahogany fitted case, with pasted trade label to inside of lid, dates it to around 1850
Microscope stands 46cm (18") high in its working position.
Accessories as pictured. Of note; substage accessories are mounted on three separate 'quick change' sliders. Polariser, Dark Well holder and wheel of condensers. Th...ere is a Nicol prism eyepiece and 3 Smith & Beck objectives.
