ConditionCondition is typical for a picture of... this age including some minor discolouration.Collection InformationFrom a mid 19th century album of watercolours. The fly page is inscribed Sketches Eliza Westlake. Most watercolours were labelled on the album page with a date and a location, first in pencil then overwritten in pen. The paintings were pasted to both sides of the album sheet. We removed them from the sheets and cleaned the foxing which was present. On high quality watercolour paper. Most of the watercolours had inscriptions written below them on the album page. Where these were present, we copied the inscription onto the back of the painting in soft pencil. Most of the locations are near Niton on the Isle of Wight where I think Eliza must have had a house. The other location is Fordingbridge in the New Forest. You can view our full collection of these here.
