This  document group dated 1793 and 1794, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, writs of attachment, three signed by Phinehas (Phineas) Stebbins ordering that the men be thrown in jail, until the debts are paid. Each is about 7x8, signed on front by Phineas Stebbens and on back by Jonathan Chaffee , Stephen Cadwell and Samuel Merritt , overall very good condition.Captain Phineas Stebbins, (1739-1807) of Wilbraham, was born in Longmeadow in 1739. ... captain in the militia, a Shaysite (... a sympathizer with or participant in Shays' Rebellion of 1786–87 in Massachusetts brought on by business depression and heavy taxes), an Antifederalist, and (in 1795), a Methodist. He served in the 12th Company, 1st Hampshire County Regiment, Massachusetts Militia during the Revolutionary War. He was moderator and selectman of North Wilbraham.  This is from a collection of stamps, checks, letters and covers that have not been seen by the public for over 25 years. I now accept PAYPAL.
