Story: Bought from a Memphis Pawn... shop complete with A Jazz bass neck dated 1973. The Body was routed for active EMG P/J pickups, neck fitted with a brass nut, and the bridge replaced with the Badass II... it is a safe bet that this was an 80’s “make over” victim.
Photos attempt to show buckle rash, slight paint penetration, lots of swirling scuff marks and of course the primitive P route. The control plate shows some great patina as well... Not a closet queen by any means, this bass was gigged a lot in a previous life and I was lucky enough able to put some miles on it as well. It has a monster tone that makes it hard to pass along... The last picture is for reference only: it sure looks good with blocks. Hopefully somebody out there can put this to good use, has bandwidth for a restoration project, or just wants a vintage Jazz body routed for P/J’s and a little attitude.
- lower 48 states only shipped insured- PayPal only- auction edited to include photos of control cavity and grounding under bridge- no claims as to the year, just that it is consistent with Fender manufacturing practices starting 1983- in removing the bridge for photos, the first screw holding the bridge broke leaving halflodged in the body
