This radio is a masterpiece of the famous German radio manufactory, a jewel in each collection, even with an age of over 50 years. I am pleased to offer you this radio. It has been in my collection for a long time, during which it has been treated with care and maintained regularly.  A total of seven tubes and four speakers in the well known Green-Cone-Technology impress with a very natural and clear sound. A stereo decoder can be plugged in. Connect your smartphone to the Freudenstadt 15M via Bluetooth-receiver. Saba was a highly developed manufacturer of radios and televisions in Germany. There were many competitors in the radio market, but Saba clearly stood out with its claim to the highest quality. The advertisement for the high-end production methods in "Black Forest Precision" has created an argument that has convinced many customers worldwide. We know the famous Black Forest cuckoo clocks of the highest quality. Saba always puts emphasis on the finest electronic technology and high-quality mechanical production. In order for these products to be known to the trade, ie the salesmen, service technicians and craftsmen, training was very important. As soon as new devices were launched, they were invited to familiarize themselves with the new models. I was already fascinated by these devices as a young apprentice and I like to remember the seminars and advanced training that Saba engineers gave us. In Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest I got regularly in the factory opportunity to get to know the newest models. The development department of Saba was able to realize some very good ideas on this Freudenstadt 15M.  By now, there were many broadcasters in Germany broadcasting programs on FM-stereo. This offer includes a Saba decoder. Two woofers and two tweeters in stereo arrangement. 2 push-pull amplifiers, each with 7 watts of peak power. Magic band for FM and AM. Separate controls for treble, bass, balance and ferrite antenna. Selection of stations separately for FM and Broadcast. Two scales for the display of FM and AM stations.
The Freudenstadt 15M gives an authentic impression of radio technology that time. With a price of 679, 00 DM it was a very expensive radio in 1964. But for this money, the family could listen one of the best radio in Germany in their living room. You will find some interesting data to Saba at the end of the offer.

The radio has antennas for FM and AM. However, good outdoor antennas offer better reception. Although the restoration has been carried out very carefully, I would like to point out that, for example, when switching on a lamp, an electrical device or a smartphone pops or noises in the speaker can occur. These are typical noises that come from the environment and can not be claimed. Please note that the radio uses analogue technology, it was developed for the European market more than 70 years ago. A comparison with today's digital technology is hardly possible. This radio is pure nostalgia and you will like it very much as it is. Some important basic remarks on every restoration of a radio. Defective parts like tubes, resistors, rectifier, lamps and other parts have been replaced. Capacitors in old devices are always "time bombs". These components have enormous capacity changes due to their age and construction. Cause can be, f. e. the storage, the radios are often stored for decades in cabinets, bedrooms, cellars, garages, barns, stores and other places. As a result they are subject to a permanent temperature change, the environment was dry, hot, moist, wet, humid. So the capacitors dry out or it draws moisture into them, causing leaks, the capacitance values change drastically, which can lead to irreparable short circuits. For these reasons, I basically replace all these passive components in respective modules of the radio. When these capacitors are replaced, most sources of error are eliminated. Due to the age, some components are no longer available. Therefore I point out that it is sometimes necessary to use parts from identical or similar models of the manufacturer during a restoration. This is necessary to ensure functionality and safety, and there is no reason for any complaint. The cabinet was cleaned and polished only a little, so that the grown patina should be preserved. A few words about me. I'm "Radio and Television Master of the old school". The training in Germany will be made dual. This is of great advantage. It means the trainee is formed parallel in the company and at school. The company provides practical knowledge and the school teaches the theoretical fundamentals.  After three and a half years there is a final exam in theory and practice. By the master exam is possible to open his own business and young people to train. My training in the craft began in 1967 as the tube technology was at its peak. Over time I have repaired several thousand devices expertly. All offered radios are in my collection for decades. Now comes the time when I need to close my collection. It is my wish that these wonderful radios and devices come in good hands. I will gladly answer your questions about tube radios. Please contact me via Ebay-email.
