here we have a very early tin robot from Japan made in the early 50s, mr. robot the mechanical brain as he is called, based on one of the first postwar robots from germany, the ST1 robot from Strenco (some believe the other way around but tend to credit the german as being the first/originals)A beautiful design, entirely made out of tin, with its unique round head, this robot might be the first japanese battery operated robot, y...es it is battery operated...the lights in the hands!a wind up mechanism makes him walk, working perfect! And when inserted a c-cell battery in its head his hands light up red/green with every step he makes, however some contact is bad or the bulbs need replacement because the lights don’t work anymorethe condition is very good, here and there some light playwear spotsall complete and all original, this one is a tough one to find nowadaysa true classic robot from the golden age of the tin robots!
