Up for sale is a beautiful, “Winchester Repeating Arms 10 Guage Signal Cannon 1950's that’s been in my family for as long as I could remember and Im 44 years old.This Winchester has never been fired as long as I remember, only played with by me as a kid growing up. I don't know if my grandffather ever fired it but hes long gone so I can not ask. Its a Standard Black Winchester Model 98 Breach Loading Signal 12” Cannon 10GA patented in 1901 and I believe this Winchester... was manufactured in the 1950's.The famous Winchester Model 98 Breech Loading Signal Cannon was first offered in Winchester's 1903 catalog. It was described as: "a breech loading cannon possessing safety, simplicity of construction, and ease of manipulation...."The cannon is manufactured using the specifications from original Winchester blueprints. The barrel, machined from solid round bar, is mounted on a cast iron undercarriage that is cast using original patterns from Winchester.The barrel and undercarriage have a durable electro-coated finish, and the breech closure is hardened black. This Signal Cannon has some light surface rust that will come off easily. It’s also missing some of the bluing however this Winchester will clean up very nice.The serial number is: 879. The serial numbers on this Winchester are matching. This Winchester Signal Cannon is chambered in 10 GA BLANKS ONLY and it’s missing the lanyard.
