Antique Bitters Label, King Solomons Stomach Bitters. New old stock. Seattle?. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. This label was never applied to a bottle. It was found in a box of labels along with other brands from the pre-Prohibition Columbia Cafe (Faust & Magennis) 601 J Street, Sacramento. I have photos of Jack Faust at the bar and at home. It was common at the time for saloons to buy a barrel of spirits, labels, then buy whatever bottles needed, apply labels,... and sell. There were still other labels from Michael Cronan, California Winery, etc. This is the last mint condition (well, a pin hole appears about middle top - mentioned for accuracy) King Solomons Stomach Bitters label I have. And as far as I know, none others have ever been found. Wichmann thinks it is 1908-12 and "not much is known." I doubt that a more gorgeous label occurs on any bottle. King Solomon on a throne, being fanned by slaves, being served both a bottle and a glass to drink the bitters from, a musician with a lyre, beautiful harem girls, carpet.
