Georges Gyaniny French Impressionist Oil Painting, South Of France, Well Listed
Item History & Price
One of the more skillful French painters from the early and mid 20th century specializing in views of the south of France, Georges Gyaniny developed an appealing technique featuring the use of impasto and vibrant colors that evoked the sun drenched scenery which characterizes this region. This beautiful oil on board is an excellent example of his work.
The painting measures 13 inches by 20 inches (sight size), and is housed in a nice period frame measuring a total of 19 inch...es by 26 inches. The painting is signed by Gyaniny at the lower left, and is in very good condition. The picture likely dates from the 1950s or 1960s, based on its frame. There are a few minor scratches to the frame and a little soiling to its linen liner, but the frame is still very serviceable and functional.
We are offering this fine example of 20th century French painting by a talented and listed artist with a low opening bid and with no reserve, in the expectation that it will achieve its appropriate value.
