1723Selling here is Dr Adam Littleton's 'Linguae Latinae Liber Dictionarius...Latin Dictionary in Four Parts...', printed in London, 1723. Text printed in 4 and 3 columns within ruled borders. The fifth edition of this popular standard Latin-English dictionary first published in 1678.Stout 4to, bound in period blindtooled panelled calf, spine with five raised bands, all page edges once speckled red. Period plain endpapers with prevoius owners bookplate and ink inscriptions. The book measures 21cm by 25.5cm and some 9.5cm thick.The contents are unpaginated and complete, meeting collation: [1446]pp, with copper engraved frontispiece and two maps showing Italy and Ancient Rome, text arranged in three and four columns. Page edges speckled red.

Textblock is firm, contents generally in very good crisp condition, clean if lightly toned and with some scattered light foxing, upper fly leaves and frontis creased to lower corner, early bookplate and ink ownership to upper endleaves.
