This charming art decosilver enamel butterfly brooch is fully hallmarked and signed TLM.Thomas L Mott established his company in 1875 and it wasstill in business as late as the 1970’s. Particularly noted for his wonderfulbutterfly wing jewellery in the 1920’s, Thomas Mott also made lovely silver enamel jewellery.Butterflies by TLMare quite rare so they are always a great find. The butterflymeasures 3.9cms (1 and 7/16”) across the wingspan. It weighs 5 grams.The wings areenamelled... in vibrant turquoise and emerald green with black accents. The body is enamelled in black. This is such an eyee catching butterfly!On the back is asolid old style c clip and pin. Down the centre is TLM Sterling.It is in excellent conditionfor a butterfly which is probably around 100 years old. There is a tiny patch of lightening to the right of the upper body. However this is hardly noticeable as the strong colours have so much impact. This stunning butterfly comes to you tissue wrapped in a gift box.
