Original Description:
Offered for sale is an early stoneware flask turned by a New England potter in the mid 19th century. It has a rolled lip and pumpkin seed body covered in a brown slip with the potter's fingerprints visible at the base from dipping the flask in the slip vat. There are also some runs and a few small marks of burst slip bubbles. The remains of an old cork rattle around inside. The flask is 7 1/4 inches tall with a 2 1/2 x 2 1/4 inch base. It is in excellent condition.
