Wonderful rare pre civil war squat stout or ale in a vibrant green. This 7" bottle is embossed in a bold rectangular slug plate J. J. FREEDLEY/ NORRISTOWN / PA. Norristown is about 6 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The bottle was likely made by Dyottville Glass works. The bottle has never been in the ground and displays mint but there is a 1/2" chip on the back base edge that appears to have started with a bubble and a flake under the lower ring of the lip, both pictured. I could find... no reference to this bottle after a lot of research so may be fairly rare. In any case is pontiled and beautiful. Please e-mail any questions.
