Just time for Christmas, some wonderful things for the collector/hoarder in all of us!!! I’ve collected both pontiled and stoneware sarsaparillas the majority of my adult life, but here’s one I recently stumbled upon in the Finger Lakes region that I have not seen before!!! An early flavored beer, I’m guessing 1850-ish by the form/exaggerated taper. Color is a grayish beige & it stands approximately 9” tall. Marked/incised on two lines as follows, “Mason & Streets/Sarsaparill...a”. The top of the “Ma” in “Mason” is a bit weak/cut-off. A tiny nick/flake off the bottom edge of the taper is extremely minor &!the only flaw worth mentioning... It may be a long time before you “stumble upon” another, so don’t miss out!!! Guaranteed old/authentic/as described!!!
