This is a signed letter from Vivian Breck.
Vivian Breck was the pen-name of Vivian Gurney Breckenfield
(1895-1992), a writer of several popular young adult novels.
Vivian Breck was born in California, but grew up in remote mountainareas in Mexico, where her father worked as a mining engineer.This background no doubt played a major role in her novels, whichwere generally about the adventures of teen-age girls in placessuch as the Sierra Mountains (HIGH T...RAIL, 1948), the Green Riverin Utah and Colorado (WHITE WATER, 1958), and Hawaii (KONASUMMER, 1961).
The letter is handwritten on a piece of her stationery.The stationery is about 8" by 6", with her married name
(Mrs. E. A. Breckenfield) and address (in Carmel, California)
printed at the top.
The letter is dated April 8, 1964. It is addressed to the
late Roger Harris, a well-known autograph collector.
It is in very good condition, with some moderate wear.
