A terrific “Sewing Bird” designedwith table clamp for holding material and fabric being sewn. It isall brass and measures 4 3/4” high with the bird 3 1/2” long ... very ornate with the bird having the embossed f feathering andthe clamp vine & flowers. The front tips of the wings markedPatented Feb 15 1853 (worn year).  The round recessed area on the back of bird is for a tiny cushion to hold a needle or pin..(it is missing).. The spring snaps tight and adjusting t...he key on the clamp works like new... after 165 years. Excellent... see pictures.
