Vintage Hickok Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester 533, Calibrated/Works/Mostly?I bought this several months ago as untested from a guy in Minnesota, to use while my 533A and 539C were out for maintenance. I took it over to Scherrer Instrument Co. (Since 1942) toget checked out before I used it. Jack is the only Factory Authorized Hickok Service still left around here that I know of. He put on a new line cord, calibrated and generally gave it a cleanbill of healt...h. EXCEPT FOR! The "Micromhos" Range Switch! Everything is great on the "English"position (the most important on a 533). BUT! You get no meter reading on the 3000, 6000 or 15000range. Jack thinks the switch itself is the problem. SO! If you are interested in a good (but limited)Hickok 533, this is the one for you. ALSO! There is NO lid (I put that on my 533A)!CAN'T GET A HANDLE ON WHAT PRICE TO ASK.
