This small brass apothecary mortar and pestle is still shiny with some light tarnish and surface scratching consistent with the normal wear of brass. The mortar measures approximately 2" high, 2" wide at the top and 1 1/4" wide at the bottom. The handles extend 1/2" out on each side. There is an SRG Japan label affixed to the bottom. The pestle measures approximately 3" long and 1/2" in diameter on the ends.For its diminutive size it has a nice heft. Please note that I do not know the ...exact age of this item. Judging by it's condition It appears to have been displayed rather than used. I do know that it was in the same household for at least 20 years.I have described this item to the best of my ability.
