A very nice World War II U.S. airborne glider infantry regiment officer’s overseas cap that remains in excellent condition. It is constructed of khaki cotton material and piped in blue for a Glider Infantry Regiment. Sewn to the left front is an officer’s glider cap patch. This patch features a glider machine embroidered in white cotton thread on a blue twill background and with white embroidered border. On the left side of the cap is an enlisted man’s “U.S.” lapel disk. This... insignia appears to be original to the hat and has been on there a long time. The interior is lined in gold satin and with a brown leather sweatband. The manufacturer’s tag gives the size as 6⅞. A fine-looking example in excellent, undamaged condition.5770
