The 16” outer celestial globe consists of star symbols in white with star names and in many cases distances in light years. The ecliptic pathway of the Sun is outlined by Golden discs at 5 day intervals. The precessional paths of the North & South celestial poles and deep sky objects with their Messier or NGC number are shown in black. Circles of Right Ascension and declination are also shown in ...black every 15 degrees and 10 degrees respectively.The Milky Way is displayed as a pale blue hazy band circling the globe. The Sun ball is movable along its ecliptic path around the sky as seen from the Earth globe by turning its control knob. The horizon ring has a compass rose printed on its upper surface indicating degrees of azimuth and can be adjusted by reaching through the access port in the outer sphere. The central Earth globe shows major cities or geographic locations in each time zone as well as longitude lines every 15 degrees and latitude lines every 10 degrees. It can be turned using the Earth rotator control knob.
