WW2 German K98 Mauser Later War Laminated Rifle Stock Set Complete with small eagle over large "L" Luftwaffe marking (Please See Photos). Large numbers of Luftwaffe (German Air Force) personnel were used as infantry in the later stages of WWII as the German war situation became more desperate. The clearly visible "5" at the end of the waffenamt under the middle eagle probably indicates this stock was produced by Mauser. This type of later war German K98 rifle stock is... pictured in "Backbone of the Wehrmacht" page 180 4th rifle to the right, with laminated stock, cupped butt plate, stamped and welded bands and stamped band spring. Part of the "Total Mobilisation" the German war machine was transitioning into after 1943. All the parts are original late war WWII German but the numbers do not match and some parts are unmarked and unnumbered as was the custom with some late war parts on German rifles. To be exact the second band is probably from an even later war German k98 rifle because it has the hole for a wood screw and no markings or numbers. This transitional "Total Mobilisation" Rifle Stock Set is complete with the late war laminated stock, cupped butt plate, hand guard, stamped and welded front and rear bands, late war stamped band spring, a bayonet lug and recoil cross bolt. There is a slight indention on the left of the buttstock (please see photos).This stock has the usual dings and dents as would be expected in a 75 year old military stock with a nice overall darkening from age. Hard to find a later war WWII German rifle stock set you can use to put the correct stock back onto your sporterized or damaged later war WWII German rifle.
