Original Description:
Offering this early hand forged double candle stand in wonderful condition. I am not well versed on precise aging of early forged iron pieces, but I would say this was made in the 1800's although it may be earlier. Please look at all photos and judge for yourself. Don't hesitate to ask any questions or to see additional photos if needed. This stand 48" tall, is primitive yet skillfully made with heavy double candle cones set atop a cross bar of iron with dog bone hand shaped ends that ...extend beyond the cones. Up and down adjustable mechanism with two hooks below the candle cones for hanging extra lighting or for snuffers. Tripod base with pounded penny feet and initials G. J. F. on the top the leg's hammered surface. The very top has a pigtail loop and included is a matching hand forged snuffer with a pigtail handle that was found hanging on this piece. Surface wear to the iron, oxidation as you can see, old wax imbedded in the cones. A one of a kind gorgeous piece! Christmas is coming! This is a 5 Day auction with no reserve.
