This wonderful old quilt measures 73" on each side and weighs just 3 lbs, unboxed. It is a rather thin quilt, but medium weight due to the old cotton used for the top, backing and batting; it was certainly made to be an impressive decorative bedspread rather than a comforter.
The fabrics are feed sacks and other old cottons. The piecing and quilting were done by hand. The quilting offers some nice patterns visible on close-up # 11.
We called the pattern "Bursting Star", but... it is not exactly the same we have seen in our books. It might be a variation, or it might have another, completely different name. Notice that at the tips of the stars the patchwork continues in the shape of arrowheads, rather than other smaller exploding stars.
We combine shipping.
