BRAYTONWilliam Daniel Brayton (November 6, 1815 – June 30, 1887) was a U.S. Representativefrom Rhode Island. Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, Brayton attended Kent Academyin East Greenwich, Rhode Island.Brayton spent two years in BrownUniversity, Providence, Rhode Islandand then engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was a Major of the Fourth Regimentof Rhode Island Militiain the Dorr Rebellion. Later, in 1844, he wasthe townclerk of Warwick and also as member of the town council.He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1841 and 1851. Heserved in the State Senatein 1848 and 1853. Brayton was elected as a Republicanto the Thirty-fifthand Thirty-sixthCongresses (March 4, 1857 – March 3, 1861). He served as chairman of theCommittee on Expenditures on Public Buildings (Thirty-sixth Congress). He wasan unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1860 to the Thirty-seventhCongress. He was appointed collector of internal revenue for the second district ofRhode Island in 1862 and served until 1871, when he resigned. He served asdelegate to the Republican National Convention in 1872. For a number of yearshe was in charge of the money-ordr division of the Providence post office. Hedied in Providence, Rhode Islandon June 30, 1887. He was interred in Brayton Cemetery, Apponaug, Rhode Island.<<>::<>>BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OFTHE HONORABLEJAMES HARPER GRAHAMJames Harper Graham (September 18, 1812 –June 23, 1881) was an American politician from New York.LifeBorn in Bovina, New York, Graham attended the public schools, and then engaged in agricultural pursuits.He was Town Supervisor of Delhiand Chairman of the Delaware CountyBoard of Supervisors.Graham was elected as a Republicanto the 36th United States Congress, holding office from March 4, 1859, to March 3, 1861.He was a member of the New York State Assembly(Delaware Co., 2nd D.) in 1871;and of the New York State Senate(23rd D.) in 1872and 1873.Afterwards he engaged in agricultural and mercantile pursuits. He died inDelhi on June 23, 1881, and was buried at the Woodland Cemetery.
