This Original Antique 1920's Art Deco Art Deco 14k Solid Yellow Gold ring has Beautiful Blue & White Guilloche Enamel work. Guilloche is French and means Engine turning and dates back to the 16th century. This effect is created by first engraving the metal plate and then adding the enamel to create more depth in the designs. This blue enamel has a radiating line pattern under the pearlescent blue enamel with white enamel bar accents on the sides. The best known, but not the first, artist using this technique was Fabergéé, famous for their jeweled eggs. In addition to the blue enamel there is a line of white enamel on either side of the blue enamel. The face of the ring has been drilled and set with a Solid Yellow Gold Masonic Square & Compass. The Solid Gold Masonic Square & Compass is beautifully detailed down to the tiny hatch marks on the L-Square and the screw at the top. This ring has been drilled and the Masonic symbol has been set into the face with two posts and not simply applied to the top. This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has fantastic Hand Engraved & Milgrained details down the shoulders of the ring. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery.
