Features: A very nice vintage (1930's) ring for man but could also be for woman . Made of solid 14K gold with pear cabochon cut ruby gemstone of very excellent quality and 1 round full ct diamond of very good quality . Ruby stone is about 1 ct (.95 ct). Diamond is a over 1/20 ct (as in about 7 pts). It's rare. An earlier design by the Weinman Brothers Jewelry Co., NY, New York, founded in 1912 by David and Sam Weinman. Shop competed in the arts and crafts jewelry movement of early 1900...'s, using high quality gemstones , crafting arts and crafts (PRE-modernist) designs. Ring serves as an example of their superb earlier smith workmanship in an eye catching arts and crafts design . For a 14K gold ring, it's relevantly heavy . heavy . Weighs 5.3 grams . It was very well kept and in excellent condition .
Ring Size: Ring looks impressive on most fingers. Though, ring is a size 10, it should also fit size 9.5 without any significant shifting, based on this type of design . For those in UK, AU and Ireland, size 10 is a size T 1/2, also fits Sizes T and S 1/2. Keep in mind, right hand fingers tend to be a little thicker , (same applies in case your left handed). Due to it's stones value and workmanship, it's worth having your local jeweler resize it.
Measurements: Top (face) is 3/4 inch by a little over 1/3 inch . From where ring rest on finger top to top of ruby stone is up to a little over 1/4 inch (7.25 mm) and lays very beautifully due to its inner arched mounting . Shank widths from upper to rear are 1/3 inch, 1/4 inch and nearly 1/8 inch in back (as in 3 mm).
Hallmark and Marks: "14K" with shop's mark of "Wb" with upright line above W , (PRE-dating 1940 mark without the shop mark line).
Guarantee: Gemstones were inspected and tested by me and another jeweler as natural guaranteed or total refund . As a jeweler and retired precious metal testing specialist for refinery, I re-assure it will test solid 14K gold as marked or total refund. Prior to listing, I routinely test , regardless of what's marked.
